Three generations ago William Kindness opened his bakery and set his standard, we’ve not compromised on that. For us the secret to great baking is simple; use the finest ingredients. That’s why our Oatcakes Bites are made from specially sourced oats, grown and milled locally, so we can inspect and judge them.
We don’t use the cheapest cheese available; we select Lockerbie Cheddar because it has the flavour profile and consistency we demand. We could use palm oil, but we don’t, we choose to source rape seed oil, not only is it better for the environment, we also believe it’s a better oil for oatcakes. Don’t just take our word for it, our oatcakes consistently win Great Taste Awards and we are now a Great Taste Award Producer, a member of the Scottish Bakers Association, The Guild of Fine Foods and SALSA.

A gorgeous crunch, oats and warming, with hints of cheese and a touch of sweetness the finish does have some very good oat and cheese character and it is beautifully baked

Attractive bite size oatcakes, great crisp texture with plenty of bite from the oats. You certainly get the pepper bomb at the end of eating these wow!

The Mature Cheddar Oatcake Bites were indeed bursting with cheese and had a luscious buttery yet oats texture. The strong cheese was delicious and created an interesting biscuit with lots of depth
On my recent holiday I purchased The Kindness Bakery chilli Oatcake from the deli in Stornaway. They are the most amazing oatcakes ever.
